VTS Data Replication Suite

Crossroads’ Virtual TapeServer Data Replication Suite is used to create and maintain identical copies of backup data on VTS-controlled disk storage at one or more locations. In the event of a disaster, remote recovery operations can begin immediately. The Suite provides a cost-effective solution for the rapid recovery of critical business data. The Data Replication Suite enables enterprises to:

• Reduce their Recovery Time Objective (RTO) as backup data is immediately available.
• Reduce their Recovery Point Objective (RPO) as backup data is synchronized as of the last backup. (More benefit messaging required.)

The VTS Data Replication Suite consists of three separate disaster recovery features designed to create and maintain identical copies of backup data at one or more locations: VTS Instant/DR and VTS AutoCopy.

VTS Instant/DR

VTS Instant/DR has two operating modes: Synchronization and Replication. Synchronization isolates byte-level changes in the data set and synchronizes the changes between the local and remote VTS systems. Replication transmits files that change to the remote VTS system. VTS AutoCopy

VTS AutoCopy automatically transfers virtual tape cartridges to one or more remote sites immediately following the completion of a host backup job.
